R + F Active Hydration | Product Review

I didn't think I would get to write this review so soon. I've only been using this product for a week now. I know there's so much more to learn about it and that I will only see more results as time passes but I wanted to get the information out there for anyone dealing with skin issues! I agreed to test this product out for a friend a few weeks before it was released.

Two nights ago, I was going through my nightly routine and my face just felt different as I was rubbing on the serum. I've had rough spots for as far back as I can remember. Especially on my chin creases and near my nose. Nothing, at all, has ever removed them. They just stick around no matter how abrasive the product I was using at the time -- thinking scrubbing would help, but it never did. I guess what my face really needed was ACTIVE HYDRATION.

After noticing that these rough spots are just gone... I took a look at my skin closely. I CANNOT believe how even my skin tone is. I use so many products to correct the surface and color of my skin from years and years of sun damage, but I've never had one to work SO quickly.

What's the deal with a serum??

A serum is a lightweight skincare product that delivers higher concentrations of powerful ingredients to address a specific skin concern. Although there are many different types of serums on the market, each individual serum tends to address a specific concern for a more intensive effect. Serums are meant to work synergistically with your other skincare products, and are to be layered underneath moisturizers or other skin conditioning products for additional and/or better results.

The serum is not oily or thick, it feels like nothing. It's not heavy or greasy, it's just there. I honestly thought "this isn't going to do anything."

I'm using the serum day and night and I'm going to keep you all posted over on Snapchat. Please follow along there.

There are two ways to condition dry skin. The most common way is to form an occlusive barrier on the skin to prevent moisture from escaping. However, occlusive barriers don’t actually add hydration to the skin and tend to feel heavy and greasy. The second way to tackle dryness is to add hydration to the skin’s surface. The best ingredient to achieve this is Glycerin. Unfortunately, Glycerin is sticky by nature so most formulas contain only 1-3% Glycerin, making them less effective. With Active Hydration Serum, we created a new molecule to deliver a 30% Glycerin in lightweight, elegant formula.

Active Hydration Serum in a nutshell...

Active Hydration Serum is a layering super-serum that utilizes our patent-pending 3D3P Molecular Matrix to deliver a high level of Glycerin and cross-linked Hyaluronic Acid in an elegant, lightweight formula. It provides a high level of continuous hydration by pulling water from the atmosphere to nourish and replenish skin. Skin is immediately softer, smoother and more radiant-looking, and continues to improve over time.

But, how does it work, actually?

Active Hydration Serum is formulated with a proprietary, patent-pending 3D3P Molecular Matrix that instantly hydrates skin to an optimal moisture equilibrium and maintains it over time. Flooded with 30% Glycerin and cross-linked Hyaluronic Acid, the 3D3P Molecular Matrix draws moisture from the atmosphere, forming a water reservoir on the skin’s surface, allowing it to take in hydration as needed. The intelligent technology self- adjusts to each individual’s skin needs and environment to deliver continuous hydration throughout the day.

Tell me about the ingredients though...

R+F’s proprietary 3D3P Molecular Matrix reengineers the best super-hydrators – maximized 30% Glycerin and cross-linked Hyaluronic Acid. Active Hydration Serum adds hydration back onto the skin to provide instant results and long term benefits.

  Glycerin: Maximized 30% concentration draws in moisture from the atmosphere and creates a water reservoir on the skin’s surface to deliver continuous, all-day hydration as needed.

  Hyaluronic Acid: Powerful humectant that attracts and holds 1,000 times its weight in water.

But I thought Glycerin and Hyaluronic Acid were the same thing?

Glycerin and Hyaluronic Acid are humectants that attract and hold water, however, they behave differently on the skin. Glycerin is a small molecule which is capable of absorbing at the skin’s surface. Hyaluronic Acid is a very large molecule that sits on top of the skin when applied, creating a hydrating cushion. Combining both Glycerin and Hyaluronic Acid provides a superior capacity for binding water and boosting hydration.

So, what's the real difference between other skincare products and active hydration?

Active Hydration Serum is not like any other product. The 3D3P Molecular Matrix is a patent-pending, one-of-a- kind structure, invented in the R+F lab. R+F created a new molecule to address hydration in a different way.
