graduating from runyon canyon

So, I’ll admit it. . . I fell in love with hiking in LA —- and I think we can all agree that the type of hiking I did on Runyon Canyon was not actually that challenging. Sadly, while living in SF I only got to go on a few hikes because I never really mastered the work-life-balance-thingy.

So here we are in the desert and there are a million convenient hikes. Thankfully, they’re actually a bit of a challenge / workout and loads of fun.

Did I mention I’m super scared of heights? My fear of falling off the side of the mountain (alone) burns like 5000 calories a minute (has to right?).. Anyway, I LOVE HIKING and I’d like to keep my reputation of not being scared of anything. So, I push through.

My husband isn’t huge on hiking but he loves photography and videography so I always know what to say to get him out there. Unfortunately this means I need to wear a little mascara and put on something decent because I will be on camera in some way, shape or form.

He did a lot of research on our hiking shoes and I was so pumped to wear them today. Honestly, I’m SO glad we had them because it was pretty treacherous coming down that mountain. I’ve never felt so confident (Nike’s just wouldn’t cut it!) but now I understand why people wear REAL hiking shoes.

Try them out. . .
